General Summary:

The University of North Georgia, Department of Nursing invites applications for the 12-month, tenure track position of Nursing Department Head at the rank of Professor.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Department Chair/Head AC will:

• Provide departmental leadership, budget planning, management and oversight, curriculum and program development, accreditation monitoring and evaluation,
• Have experience with strategic planning, faculty and staff development and supervision and management of clinical practice.  
• Also include teaching responsibilities in the graduate nursing programs as well as participation in university and community service actives and scholarly work.   

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Must have knowledge, skills and abilities as an advanced practice nurse. 
• Knowledge of nursing accreditation standards, grant making, and publication.   

Certifications/Licenses & Minimum Requirements:

• An earned terminal degree (PhD) in nursing from an accredited college/university.
• Current unencumbered license in Georgia as a registered professional nurse.
• Prior academic leadership experience required as a department head of one (1) year or greater
• Prior full-time graduate teaching and curricular design and development experience required.
• Record of scholarly work at a level commiserate with senior academic rank.
• Excellence in teaching and service.
