QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be a current UMD Student registered for at least 6 credit per semester. 
• Successful candidates must pass a background check and posess a valid driver’s license.
• Must be able to read and understand postal rate charts and forms.
• Must be able to lift and/or move 30 lbs, with or without accommodation.
• Customer service and cash register experience is preferred.

DUTIES:

• This position is in the UMD Mailroom, located in the Darland Administration Building.
• Receive and sign for mail and parcel shipments. Sort mail for distribution.
• Deliver and pick up departmental mail across campus.
• Calculate costs for shipment of letters and parcels. Operate cash register and handle cash transactions.

WORK SCHEDULE:

• Hours: 10-12 per week, Monday through Friday
• Preferrably available during break weeks and over the summer.
• Must have 2 hours of availability between 10:00 am – 3:00 pm, most preferably between 11:00 am – 1:00 pm.
• Hours can be different each day of the week and okay if not available every day of the week.

 
STARTING PAY:
 
Pay is $10.00 per hour with an annual $0.50/hour raise for the duration of employment.
