Job Summary | UITS is growing its team of student positions to raise student awareness and adoption of UITS services at IUPUC (Columbus). The applicants, preferably students, should be energetic, well spoken, organized and comfortable talking to their peers about technology. The mission of the Student Outreach team is to inform IU students of the technologies and services available at IU such as IUanyWare, Box, support, IT Training, Lynda and One.IU. The team will work to coordinate student-focused campaigns and events that promote effective and innovative uses of IU’s technology today, as well as provide perspective and feedback to shape tomorrow’s technologies at IU. As a self-starter, the applicant will help energize the student body in creative ways, through the use of social media and face-to-face events, while ensuring that the message is getting through to as many IU students as possible. This person also will work with professionals around the university, both inside and outside of UITS. |
Required Qualifications | REQUIRED: 1 year of experience as a consumer of technology at IU. Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Must be particularly comfortable with public speaking. Must be comfortable with mobile computing (smart phones, tablets, etc.), social media, e-mail, and Microsoft Office applications. Applicants should have a history of extra-curricular activities, leadership roles, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Applicants should be self-motivated and work well with others. Excellent communication skills required, as well as a professional demeanor. The position is five hours per week. Applicant must be flexible, as some evening and weekend events may be scheduled. |

The Stardust Center for Affordable Homes and the Family is offering a limited number of scholarships to support Master of Sustainability Solutions (MSUS) students who have proposed culminating experience projects designed to address and advance the need for affordable housing, recognizing that healthy sustainable communities provide a means for families to obtain, remain in and manage their homes.
Culminating experience projects may use the tools of research, community engagement, education, and public forums to raise awareness and build capacity to address the needs for quality affordable homes.
