Position Description | The LCCC created a Program Project, Center and Training Grants Team to support interdisciplinary research groups of investigators at LCCC, as well as collaborating institutions (e.g., Duke University, Washington University, Dana Farber Cancer Institute), in submitting complex grant applications. The Program Project, Center and Training Grants Team Lead is responsible for positioning staff to effectively integrate into and support research teams submitting complex grants and to ensure all sponsor guidelines and expectations of such mechanisms are met. The Team Lead supervises 2 staff members, manages workflow to meet requirements of multiple, yet unique, complex grant applications, coordinates staff services with research team needs and communicates with research team members (e.g., Faculty principal investigators and co-investigators, and non-faculty project managers, departmental administrators, business officers, accountants from academic departments in Schools of Medicine, Pharmacy, Public Health, Nursing, and College of Arts and Sciences and their counterparts from collaborating institutions), institutional research administration officials (Office of Sponsored Research and Sponsored Projects Office, Institutional Review Board and Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee and their counterparts from collaborating institutions) and sponsors (e.g., National Institutes of Health, Merck, American Association for Cancer Research, V-Foundation, Komen) |
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements | Bachelor’s degree and one year of experience related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. |
Essential Skills, Knowledge and Abilities | Must have pre-award submission experience for a variety of mechanisms. |
Preferred Qualifications | Experience with NCI-sponsored Cancer Center Support Grant, Specialized Programs of Research, Excellence, Program Project Grants, Training Grants and similar complex mechanisms. Prior experience managing ongoing Post Award (non-financial) administration activities greater than one renewal cycle. |

Valid First Aid/CPR card, food handler’s card, negative TB test, and clear criminal background check required. |

Skills:
- Strong computer programming skills with particular emphasis on Python and PostgreSQL
- Strong familiarity with the UNIX/Linux operating environment and web services such as Nginx, Django and RESTful web applications
