Job Description
This position is within the School of Computing, Informatics, and Decision Systems Engineering (CIDSE) at the Tempe campus in the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering. Under general supervision, the Student Services Coordinator Associate is a key contributor to increasing student retention and graduation and supports students in making timely progress toward a degree. This role manages the front desk of the CIDSE advising office at the Tempe campus for graduate and undergraduate students. Main job responsibilities includes managing all front line communication with students, faculty and staff, managing student workers, and assisting with business supply orders. This position works as part of a team, which supports student recruitment, academic advising, and retention services to prospective and current students.

Essential Duties
- Coordinates and administers student services to enrolled students, such as course registration, graduation processing, petitioning, program documentation, computer accounts, information sessions, receptions, and annual student orientation program.
- Maintains student records on computer-based databases; create reports for administration.
- Provides feedback and input regarding improvement of delivery of student support services.
- Attends and participates in staff meetings, professional development seminars, and as member of various college and university committees. Represents program at various community and student functions.
- Effectively refers students to appropriate offices/departments at ASU when necessary.
- Responds email, phone, and salesforce inquiries (prospective student, current students, faculty, alumni, etc.) in a timely manner using effective interpersonal communication, critical thinking and problem solving skills and methods as appropriate to address questions and/or concerns.
- Works collaboratively and collegially with other academic units and service providers throughout the university and community to facilitate comprehensive student support.
- Assists with development and maintenance of collateral items such as catalog, handbook, web page content, newsletters, outreach materials and other projects as assigned.
- Responsible for staff administration support including, but not limited to office supply orders, etc.
- Manages hiring, training and performance management of student workers supporting admin functions in the advising center. Maintains continuous student worker coverage at front.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in field appropriate to area of assignment AND two years of administrative and appropriate program experience; OR, six years of progressively responsible administrative and appropriate program experience; OR, any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
Desired Qualifications
- Evidence of high level of customer service delivered in a student services environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of higher education, university policies and procedures, and curricular support.
- Experience using CRM systems, especially Salesforce.
- Experience using software related to student services such as AppXtender, Peoplesoft, and DARS.
- Experience in organizing, collecting, analyzing and reporting a variety of data in written, verbal and electronic formats; (Dashboard, Data Warehouse, My Reports, and Analytics).
- Experience working with internet-based Microsoft Office applications (i.e., Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Working Environment
Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse; required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work. Occasional bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds. Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities, which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts. Ability to clearly communicate verbally, read, write, see and hear to perform essential functions.
