Position Summary |
Work with University of Idaho Extension 4-H to develop and support International Exchange inbound and outbound opportunities for youth and families statewide. The mission of the Idaho 4-H program is to help youth acquire knowledge, life skills, and attitudes that enhance their lives. Provide a safe, caring and enriching exchange experience. Work with staff, volunteers, families and youth to offer a high-quality based program. 4-H International Exchange countries currently include delegates to and from Japan, Korea, Finland, Norway, Argentina, and Costa Rica. This internship position will support the continued growth of the exchange program. Continuation of the internship is based on availability of funding. |

Support 4-H staff and faculty by recruiting and screening qualified candidates. Conduct orientation and training on UI and 4-H policies and basic youth development practices and support all volunteers. Answer questions, explain and promote the 4-H International Exchange program and provide support to potential families and youth. |

• Must be able to pass UI criminal background check. Requires: First aid and CPR certifications within one month of hire. Employment may be contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background and/or driving investigation. |

Skills:
- Strong computer programming skills with particular emphasis on Python and PostgreSQL
- Strong familiarity with the UNIX/Linux operating environment and web services such as Nginx, Django and RESTful web applications
Department Preferences:
- Optional experience with mobile app development on Android and/or iOS is a plus
- Experience debugging and/or trouble shooting software and hardware issues
- Experience working with complex software applications and web-based communications
