MATESOL Faculty Position – Applied Linguistics

Job Description:
The MA in TESOL Program, Department of Applied Linguistics, anticipates one opening for a specialist to teach and do research in the area of TESOL, with expertise in one of the traditional ESL skill areas. Secondary focus would also be desirable in Computer-assisted language learning (CALL) and corpus-informed language teaching. The position primarily involves teaching Methods and CALL courses in the MATESOL program and the linguistics minor.
Requirements:
A PhD in hand in Applied Linguistics, TESOL, or a related field is required. Teaching experience is a must, with preference given to those with experience in training EFL/ESL teachers. Background in linguistics is also preferred.
Successful candidates should have an ongoing program of research and a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching. It would be strongly desirable for the candidate to have experience teaching in a TESOL program. Responsibilities include graduate and undergraduate teaching; supervising master’s theses; maintaining an active program of research and publications; and service to the Department and the University.
