The FIU Embrace department within Research is currently seeking Panther LIFE Student Mentors to join their team of professionals. The purpose of the position is to assist with access and participation of Panther LIFE students in university courses and course work as well as in social activities both on and off campus. The Panther LIFE Mentor is expected to tutor Panther LIFE students in a variety of subject areas, conduct individual or small group tutoring sessions, and monitor student progress while maintaining confidentiality. In addition, Panther LIFE mentors will assist students in campus activities and off campus activities to promote a positive social environment. | |||||||||||||||

Skills:
- Strong computer programming skills with particular emphasis on Python and PostgreSQL
- Strong familiarity with the UNIX/Linux operating environment and web services such as Nginx, Django and RESTful web applications
Department Preferences:

- Experience debugging and/or trouble shooting software and hardware issues
