Student Engagement and Campus Life offers an opportunity for up to two students to learn the value of event coordination and management in real workplace situations at the War Memorial Chapel. This internship will offer practical experience in the conceptualization, planning, and implementation of events, with particular emphasis on weddings. The interns would be under the direct supervision of the Events and Operations Associate for the Chapel.
This position is paid up to 10 hours per week. Additional unpaid hours may be eligible for class credit if agreed to by supervising faculty and will be determined based on degree requirements set forth by the academic department.

The War Memorial Chapel and Events student intern performs a wide range of event-related duties, from initial scheduling of Chapel space for clients to day-of event coordination. The intern will work with: Microsoft Office applications; Event Management Systems (EMS) reservation software to schedule space; sound systems; a variety of candelabra and other wedding décor; and various cleaning products to prepare the Chapel space for events. Though most event-related tasks are collaborative in nature, the position demands personal initiative, innovation, and problem-solving skills.

Working a flexible schedule, including some week days and many Saturdays during the spring and summer.
