This application development professional position will be part of the OIT Employee Finance Solutions team, which provides IT solutions and support for numerous administrative units on campus (e.g. Human Resources, Payroll, Office of the Provost, Finance divisions). The application development professional:

• Will provide technical support for a variety of applications to address issues from end-users and will interact with others in the OIT to address the issues as needed.

• Will collaborate with functional units to analyze business objectives and directions, facilitates business requirements definition, and recommend business processes / technical solutions that provide the best return on investment to the organization.

• Will be expected to evaluate, develop, and assist in the implementation of solutions for our customers.

• Will provide consulting services to technical and functional staff on business/system related issues.

• May act as primary relationship owner with a particular department/client group.

• Will function as technical lead when assigned.

• Must be able to work with minimal supervision and be proficient across multiple technologies.

• May mentor junior staff.

Minimum Qualifications

Problem Solving/Consultative Approach:

Team Skills:
Participates as a team member to complete challenging projects. Works well with others, speaks his/her ideas, and listens to the ideas of others.

Interpersonal & Communication Skills:
Has the soft skills (listening, conflict management, persuasion, negotiation, etc.) to compliment his/her technical skills. Demonstrates good written and verbal communication skills. Is intellectually curious and has the desire to learn from and teach others.

Technical Skills/Depth of Knowledge:
Demonstrates knowledge of the concepts and methods of architectural design, development and integration of data and applications. Good understanding of structured and object-oriented programming and various programming languages OR knowledge of relational databases, modeling, normalization of data and integration

Preferred Qualifications

– Associate’s degree (Bachelor’s degree preferred) in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.

– Three to four years experience or an equivalent combination of education and job experience.

– Additional nice to have qualifications include: Google Apps. Web Development Tools (HTML, Java). Client/Server Technology. Structured Programming. Object Oriented Design and Development. Service Oriented Architecture. Oracle. SQL. PL/SQL. Ruby on Rails. Talend. OnBase. ServiceNow. University/Public Sector Experience. Project Management Experience. Amazon Web Services (AWS) Experience.

Posting Summary

The Classroom Assistant will support the classrooms serving children from ages 0-3 years and creating and maintaining a safe and stimulating environment for young children. This position is responsible for daily care of the children enrolled in his/her class. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following: physical caregiving, following an age appropriate daily plan, and facilitation of supportive relationships with co-workers, parents, and students. The Classroom Assistant II ensures, supports, and promotes each child’s safety, health, and development in cooperation with their families and other early childhood professionals in a manner consistent with NAEYC, NJDHS and child care licensing regulations

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience

AA degree, preferably in the field of Early Childhood Education of Child Development from an accredited public or private institution of higher education. Child Development Associate (CDA) credential for Preschool Caregivers required or an equivalent credential that addresses comparable competencies; or must obtain the credential within one year of employment as a Classroom Assistant II.

Preferred Qualifications
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Must have (or be willing to obtain) training and experience necessary to develop consistent, stable, and supportive relationships with very young children. Ability to work as part of a multi-program/disciplinary team in providing a variety of services to children and families. Experience working with children from low income families. Valid First Aid/CPR card, food handler’s card, negative TB test, and clear criminal background check required.

Job Description

 

The Cooperative Institute for Mesoscale Meteorological Studies (CIMMS) seeks to fill a Student Assistant position to contribute to CIMMS Meteorological Phenomena Identification Near the Ground (mPING) project (http://mping.ou.edu/).

The principal duties of this position are:

  • Develop technical expertise with the Python/Django RESTful system and the packages and tools used in the mPING project
  • Develop a plan for system improvements and changes to the mPING system with CIMMS personnel
  • Document the project by way of creating appropriate wiki pages
  • Potentially work on creating automated backup and system monitoring tools
  • Potentially make modifications and improvements to the iOS and Android mPING apps
  • Potentially develop new display web tools for research purposes
  •  

     

    Job Requirements

     

    Required Education: Must be currently enrolled in the current Fall 2018 Term as a student at the University of Oklahoma. Hiring contingent upon verification of current student status.

    • Must attach Fall 2018 oZONE class schedule.

    Skills:

    • Strong computer programming skills with particular emphasis on Python and PostgreSQL
    • Strong familiarity with the UNIX/Linux operating environment and web services such as Nginx, Django and RESTful web applications

    Department Preferences:

    • Optional experience with mobile app development on Android and/or iOS is a plus
    • Experience debugging and/or trouble shooting software and hardware issues
    • Experience working with complex software applications and web-based communications
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
