Functional Analyst – Student Finance

Our Student Finance Team is currently looking for an energetic and knowledgeable individual to fill our Functional Analyst Position.
Primary Function: The Student Financial Functional Analyst I is responsible for configuring, maintaining and monitoring tables within PeopleSoft Campus Solution for the department to ensure system functionality for departmental use so business objectives can be met. The analyst researches and troubleshoots systems errors and problems and works with Technology Support for resolution. The incumbent provides documentation and expertise for the development of departmental training and provides system on-the- job training within the department. The Analyst completes system upgrades and testing bundles, builds custom queries, runs reports and archives data based on retention policies. The Analyst develops and maintains metrics to ensure objectives are met. Delays or errors in performing functions would have a significant impact to business operations and customers. The Analyst collaborates with other departments to trouble shoot their modules to ensure all modules are integrated correctly. Additionally the Functional Analyst is the key contact when issues/problems occur with TouchNet, our Payment Gateway provider trouble shooting issues, installing software on desktops that process payments and makes updates to hardware (credit card readers).
Qualifications/Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Technology or related field preferred, or four (4) years of equivalent work experience required.
- Basic understanding of Information Technology Functions.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in Accounts Receivable or equivalent education or training required.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience with PeopleSoft (version 9.0) required; experience with PeopleSoft Student Financial module, snag it tools, and Query preferred.
- Demonstrated interpersonal/communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment and with customers on the phone, through email and face to face.
- Detail orientation, accuracy and ability think and organize information in a systematic manner.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Flexibility and the ability at times to operate under stressful, time-sensitive deadlines.
- Commitment to quality and personal ethics to maintain a high level of confidentiality related to all duties and responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge and skills with Microsoft Office- basic Word and intermediate skill in Excel.

Valid First Aid/CPR card, food handler’s card, negative TB test, and clear criminal background check required. |

Skills:
- Strong computer programming skills with particular emphasis on Python and PostgreSQL
- Strong familiarity with the UNIX/Linux operating environment and web services such as Nginx, Django and RESTful web applications
Department Preferences:
- Optional experience with mobile app development on Android and/or iOS is a plus
- Experience debugging and/or trouble shooting software and hardware issues
- Experience working with complex software applications and web-based communications
