The Radiology team in the UHealth Sylvester Cancer Center located at the Deerfield Beach location has multiple critical Per Diem and Full Time openings.
P00013367 – Full Time Sr. Mammography Technologist
The Sr. Mammography Technologist will be responsible for performing total breast imaging to include interventional procedures at a high technical level, obtaining quality diagnostic images with the least amount of radiation exposure, with minimal or no supervision of technical detail. These procedures will require the independent judgment with ingenuity, initiative, and an understanding of anatomical position and physiology, to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis. The Sr. Mammography Technologist is also responsible for the Mammography Services in the absence of the Chief Mammography Technologist. This position uses computer systems to access permitted Protected Health Information (PHI) as necessary to perform their functions. Employee must adhere to PHI “minimum necessary” compliance standards at all times.
The minimum requirements are as follows: High School diploma or equivalent. Graduate of a Radiologic Technology program accredited by an agency recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). ARRT registered. Must possess valid State of Florida License as a General Radiographer. (State of Florida Limited/Basic License Holders is not acceptable). ARRT certification in primary modality required. Three (3) years of relevant experience required. Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including visual examination of patient and reading information from printed sources and computer screens.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to:
• lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist.
• lift up to 20 lbs. over the head.
• carry up to 40 lbs. a reasonable distance.
Must be able to:
• push/pull with 30 lbs. of force.
• perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.
• push/pull over 100 lbs. frequently during the workday.
Schedule: Monday-Friday- 8.00 am – 3:30 pm
R100024348 – Per-Diem Mammography Technologist
Verify the patient’s ID by checking their name and date of birth. Ask patient to describe level of comfort and evidence of pain – prior, during and at the completion of the exam. Always obtain necessary consents. Always inform patient and/or patient’s family of procedure to be performed. Supervise as well as perform diagnostic imaging studies under the direction/supervision of a Radiologist, using age appropriate standards of practice. Notify appropriate person of any change(s) in patient status. Perform procedures in a safe manner. Maintain proper sterile techniques for procedures; regularly practice aseptic techniques and strictly obeys isolation and infection control procedures, prevent cross contamination during procedures, i.e., gloves, gown, mask, eye protection and hand washing. Verify surgery schedule for biopsies. Assist the radiologist or other medical specialists in biopsies/localizations throughout the duration of the procedure, with all the necessary supplies until completion of the exam. Perform Clinical assistant duties as necessary and/or as assigned. Perform additional duties as assigned. This list of duties and responsibilities is not intended to be all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties or responsibilities as necessary. Reports directly to Chief Mammography Technologist.

Incumbent performs computed tomography examinations with minimal supervision and obtains the highest quality images with the least amount of radiation exposure. One (1) year of relevant experience preferred. Will consider new graduates from accredited schools.
Schedule: On need basis: 1 Saturday per month and to cover for employees on vacation and sick days.
