PhD researchers: 7 positions at Tilburg Graduate Law School (1,0 FTE)
PhD Research opportunity in Law & Development
One of the 7 PhD researchers will participate in the European Joint Doctorate in Law & Development (EDOLAD). This is a Ph.D. program jointly run by six law faculties at universities in Europe and South Africa: Tilburg University (NL), Oslo University (N), the University of Edinburgh (UK), Deusto University (E), Tartu University (EE) and North-Western University Potchefstroom (ZA). The program has been made possible by funding from the European Union’s Lifelong Learning Program. For more information see http://www.edolad.eu .
EDOLAD interprets the field of Law & Development broadly. EDOLAD doctoral candidates participate in a core curriculum that introduces them to a broad range of methodological approaches and sub-fields within Law & Development, as well as training in the practical skills necessary to work in the Law & Development field. In addition, all EDOLAD doctoral candidates spend a significant period of time conducting the fieldwork that is essential to their research projects. Empirical research is at the core of the EDOLAD program. Mobility is also a key part of the program; and each candidate will select doctoral supervisors from, and spend research time at, two participating universities in addition to their fieldwork.
