Post Doc Position (f/m)
The Institute for Comparative Media and Communications Studies (CMC) of the Austrian Academy of Sciences and the Alpen-Adria-University Klagenfurt are offering a
(full time, 40h per week)
in the Research Group “Media, Politics & Democracy”.
The group is concerned with the relationship between media, politics and the public in long-term and international perspective. More information about the project can be found at:

A doctorate in communication science or a closely related field is required.
The position entails self-initiated research, international presentations and publications in international scientific journals, and acquiring research funding.
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in
- project management
- a strong background in quantitative methods and multivariate analysis
- profound knowledge of the Austrian media system
- and fluency in German and English, written as well as spoken.
Personal qualifications, such as willingness to cooperate and to work team oriented are desired.
We offer a 100% employment (40 hours per week) for a yearly gross salary of € 42.551,60 (= grade IV/2 according to the scale of the Austrian Academy of Sciences). Depending on qualification and experience, the salary can be negotiated.
The position should be filled as soon as possible.
