The College of Engineering, Office of Engineering Research Administration (OERA)seeks an innovative, highly skilled professional for the Proposal Development Coordinator position. This position will work in a large volume, fast paced, complex, detailed, and multifaceted environment. Provide exceptional customer service to faculty and departmental administrators. Responsible for assisting in the administration of policies and procedures concerning the preparation, development and management of large interdisciplinary sponsored programs. Seek, obtain, disseminate, and file information on funding opportunities. Review, analyze, and process proposals, contracts, and grants from various federal, state, local agencies and private corporations and foundations. Advise faculty and staff in interpreting and adhering to sponsor and University guidelines and regulations. Prepare budgets for proposals and maintain contract records and reports for sponsored projects. Assist in advising and consulting with faculty and staff, Department Heads, Deans and administrative offices on proposal preparation and contract commitments. Serve as liaison with sponsors and other University offices on behalf of faculty and staff. Coordinate and participate in seminars and workshops for faculty or staff involved in sponsored programs, especially interdisciplinary projects. Assist in seeking support for proposal coordination, writing, editing, and graphics as needed. Manage content for OERA / college research website. Provide assistance in all aspects of post-award administration: compliance, reports, invoices, create new accounts, AURAs, BARAs, revised budgets, account transfers, no-cost extension requests, monitor deadlines, resolve problems. Assist in modifying procedures to meet changing regulations and University policies. Qualify for and obtain delegated signatory authority. Experience with electronic proposal submission sites, IBIS, Excel, Word, SIMS Budgets preferred. Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. This position requires flexibility and self-management skills, including the ability to prioritize among a large number of tasks. Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills required. Capability to work both independently and as a team member, ability to multi-task and respond professionally in challenging situations is essential. Graduate of Penn State ACES preferred. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.

Posting Summary

The Classroom Assistant will support the classrooms serving children from ages 0-3 years and creating and maintaining a safe and stimulating environment for young children. This position is responsible for daily care of the children enrolled in his/her class. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following: physical caregiving, following an age appropriate daily plan, and facilitation of supportive relationships with co-workers, parents, and students. The Classroom Assistant II ensures, supports, and promotes each child’s safety, health, and development in cooperation with their families and other early childhood professionals in a manner consistent with NAEYC, NJDHS and child care licensing regulations

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience

AA degree, preferably in the field of Early Childhood Education of Child Development from an accredited public or private institution of higher education. Child Development Associate (CDA) credential for Preschool Caregivers required or an equivalent credential that addresses comparable competencies; or must obtain the credential within one year of employment as a Classroom Assistant II.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Must have (or be willing to obtain) training and experience necessary to develop consistent, stable, and supportive relationships with very young children. Ability to work as part of a multi-program/disciplinary team in providing a variety of services to children and families. Experience working with children from low income families. Valid First Aid/CPR card, food handler’s card, negative TB test, and clear criminal background check required.

Job Description

 

The Cooperative Institute for Mesoscale Meteorological Studies (CIMMS) seeks to fill a Student Assistant position to contribute to CIMMS Meteorological Phenomena Identification Near the Ground (mPING) project (http://mping.ou.edu/).

The principal duties of this position are:

  • Develop technical expertise with the Python/Django RESTful system and the packages and tools used in the mPING project
  • Develop a plan for system improvements and changes to the mPING system with CIMMS personnel
  • Document the project by way of creating appropriate wiki pages
  • Potentially work on creating automated backup and system monitoring tools
  • Potentially make modifications and improvements to the iOS and Android mPING apps
  • Potentially develop new display web tools for research purposes
  •  

     

    Job Requirements

     

    Required Education: Must be currently enrolled in the current Fall 2018 Term as a student at the University of Oklahoma. Hiring contingent upon verification of current student status.

    • Must attach Fall 2018 oZONE class schedule.

    Skills:

    • Strong computer programming skills with particular emphasis on Python and PostgreSQL
    • Strong familiarity with the UNIX/Linux operating environment and web services such as Nginx, Django and RESTful web applications

    Department Preferences:

    • Optional experience with mobile app development on Android and/or iOS is a plus
    • Experience debugging and/or trouble shooting software and hardware issues
    • Experience working with complex software applications and web-based communications
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Ability to work both independently and cooperatively with others
