Job Summary
Accompany students for rehearsals in classes as well as individual performance, while working toward their goal of performing juries (semester finals) and recitals (upper-division and graduate project), providing guidance in musicality. Play standard music from written scores accompanying instrumentalists and vocalists for rehearsals and recitals.
FLSA
Hourly/Int – This position may be eligible for health benefits, and is non-exempt, (eligible for overtime compensation) according to FLSA. Employees who are determined to be eligible for health benefits will be notified by the Benefits Office.

Minimum Qualifications
Knowledges and Abilities:
Knowledge of fundamentals of harmony; and skill in playing one or more musical instruments as accompanist.
Ability to select appropriate dance music; ability to compose or improvise music, ability to coach performing
artists; ability to transcribe music from recordings.
And
Experience:
Experience which has led to a thorough familiarity with accompanying choral groups and soloists (instrumental
and vocal) or interpretive dances. Depending upon the position to be filled, experience in coaching performing artists may be required.
Required Qualifications
Skill in playing as accompanist and ability to sight-read and follow both written and oral directions from faculty and full-time accompanist.
Preferred Qualifications
Proficiency in accompanying various types of musicians and ability to coach. Experience in coaching vocalists techniques.
