This Scholarship aims to promote and encourage research in Korean Studies at the University of Sydney. The Scholarship is generously funded by Jae My Holdings Pty Ltd.
Eligibility:
a. Applicants must have an unconditional offer of admission for full-time studies in a PhD within the Department of Korean Studies, School of Languages and Cultures, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at the University of Sydney, and be willing to undertake research in the field of Korea Studies.
b. Applicants must also hold an Honours degree (First Class or Second Class upper), or a Master of Arts degree in Korean Studies, or equivalent, with a substantial research component.
Selection Criteria:
a. The successful applicant will be awarded the Scholarship on the basis of:
I. academic merit,
II. research proposal,
III. curriculum vitae,
IV. two academic referees’ reports, and
V. a personal statement which demonstrates the applicant’s strong research capability, how they will benefit from the Scholarship and their interest in the area of research.
b. Shortlisted applicants may be requested to attend an interview either in-person or by telephone/skype.
c. The successful applicant will be awarded the Scholarship on the recommendation of the Selection Committee consisting of the Dean of the Faculty of Arts, or their nominee and the Chair of the Department of Korean Studies. The Chair of the Selection Committee is the faculty Dean.
Amount awarded:
The Scholarship will provide an annual stipend allowance of $20,000 per annum for up to three years (fixed rate), subject to satisfactory academic performance. No extension is possible.

ANU Master of Philosophy Scholarship »
Overview
ANU Master of Philosophy Scholarships are funded by individual academic Colleges. It is expected that recipients will study on a full-time basis. However, in accordance with strict criteria, the scholarship can be awarded for part-time study. International scholars must undertake study on a full-time basis.
Eligibility
The scholarships are available to potential and current students who:
- are domestic or international students; and
- have applied for admission to a Master of Philosophy Research program at the ANU; and
- have a Bachelor degree with first-class Honours (some Colleges may consider applicants with upper second-class Honours), or a Master degree with a research component from a recognised University.
Benefits
- Travel & removal allowance for students relocating to Canberra to commence their Master of Philosophy program;
- Dependant Child Allowance (International students only)
- Thesis Allowance

No application is necessary as all eligible students will be considered.
Further information
In order to be considered for this scholarship in the main round of scholarship offers International students are required to apply for admission by 31 August. Domestic students are required to apply for admission by 31 October. Colleges may consider offering these scholarships at any time of the year..

Overview
A number of ANU Tuition Scholarships are funded and awarded by individual Colleges and determined as part of the application process. This scholarship covers international student tuition fees.
Eligibility
Bachelor degree with first-class or upper second class honours, or a research Master degree from a recognised university; International students.

Applicants are strongly encouraged to contact the relevant Graduate Studies Convener or a prospective supervisor, prior to lodging an application, to discuss the proposed research topic and related matters.
Further information
It is expected that the scholarship normally will be taken up by 31 March in the year for which it is awarded, although, subject to the approval of the prospective supervisor, Head of Department and Dean/Director, a later start date may be possible. The date by which a scholarship must be taken up in a particular instance will be made clear in the formal letter of offer for the scholarship.
