Job Summary | Student Success Advocates work to assist students in identifying direction, engaging with high impact activities / services, and accomplishing goals. Specifically, advocates foster successful transition to the university environment, identify services and resources for degree development that meet students’ needs, assist students in identifying resources for major and career selection, link students with opportunities to engage in deep learning and encourage timely graduation. This advocate position will work primarily with Return to the U students, identified as non-traditional, returning and transfer students who have the extra challenge of fitting school around their lives. |
Responsibilities | 1.Provide individualized advising to Return to the U, non-traditional, and UOnline students, linking them to campus opportunities to enhance their academic program. |
Minimum Qualifications | Master’s degree in higher education, student affairs, counseling, or other related area Previous experience in an advising, counseling or teaching in higher education environment is preferred Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description. |
Preferences | Priority will be given to applicants who submit their documents on or before Thursday, March 22nd |

The Stardust Center for Affordable Homes and the Family is offering a limited number of scholarships to support Master of Sustainability Solutions (MSUS) students who have proposed culminating experience projects designed to address and advance the need for affordable housing, recognizing that healthy sustainable communities provide a means for families to obtain, remain in and manage their homes.
Culminating experience projects may use the tools of research, community engagement, education, and public forums to raise awareness and build capacity to address the needs for quality affordable homes.
