Australia Scholarships
USQ Endowment Fund Bursary and USQ Equity Scholarship
This is a merit-based, non-repayable scheme and targets students experiencing financial hardship. Scholarships and bursaries are awarded on a competitive basis.
Please note: Should your application for a USQ Endowment Fund Bursary or USQ Equity Scholarship be successful, the funds will not be paid until approximately six weeks after the first census date in Semester 1 (23 March 2018).
If you are relying on a bursary/scholarship to buy Semester 1 textbooks and resources, you may consider applying for an interest free Student Financial Loan. The USQ Equity Scholarship (USQ Book Bursary) funds can be used to repay Student Financial Loans. Please refer to the Student Financial Loan webpage for more information and applications forms.
Value
There are two award options available:
- Book Bursary through USQ Bookshop for up to $1500 (full-time study) OR
- Book Bursary through USQ Bookshop for up to $750 (part-time study)
OR
- Direct Deposit Bursary up to $1000 (full-time study) OR
- Direct Deposit Bursary up to $500 (part-time study)
If the number of eligible applicants exceeds the number of bursaries/scholarships available, not all applications will be successful.
Eligibility
To be eligible applicants must:
- be an Australian Citizen or have permanent resident status
- be either a continuing or commencing student
- be enrolled in a minimum of 3 undergraduate-level units in the semester of application for the full-time award or
- be enrolled in 1-2 undergraduate-level units in the semester of application for the part-time award
- be taking at least one USQ course (for students undertaking cross-institutional studies)
- be able to demonstrate financial hardship
The government funding received for the scholarship stipulates that International students are not eligible to apply for the scholarship.

Australia Scholarships
ANU Master of Philosophy Scholarship »
Overview
ANU Master of Philosophy Scholarships are funded by individual academic Colleges. It is expected that recipients will study on a full-time basis. However, in accordance with strict criteria, the scholarship can be awarded for part-time study. International scholars must undertake study on a full-time basis.
Eligibility
The scholarships are available to potential and current students who:
- are domestic or international students; and
- have applied for admission to a Master of Philosophy Research program at the ANU; and
- have a Bachelor degree with first-class Honours (some Colleges may consider applicants with upper second-class Honours), or a Master degree with a research component from a recognised University.
Benefits
- Travel & removal allowance for students relocating to Canberra to commence their Master of Philosophy program;
- Dependant Child Allowance (International students only)
- Thesis Allowance

No application is necessary as all eligible students will be considered.

In order to be considered for this scholarship in the main round of scholarship offers International students are required to apply for admission by 31 August. Domestic students are required to apply for admission by 31 October. Colleges may consider offering these scholarships at any time of the year..
It is strongly encouraged to make contact with the relevant Graduate Studies Convener or a prospective supervisor, prior to lodging an application for admission, to discuss the proposed research topic and related matters.

Overview
A number of ANU Tuition Scholarships are funded and awarded by individual Colleges and determined as part of the application process. This scholarship covers international student tuition fees.
Eligibility
Bachelor degree with first-class or upper second class honours, or a research Master degree from a recognised university; International students.

How to apply
Applicants are strongly encouraged to contact the relevant Graduate Studies Convener or a prospective supervisor, prior to lodging an application, to discuss the proposed research topic and related matters.
Further information
It is expected that the scholarship normally will be taken up by 31 March in the year for which it is awarded, although, subject to the approval of the prospective supervisor, Head of Department and Dean/Director, a later start date may be possible. The date by which a scholarship must be taken up in a particular instance will be made clear in the formal letter of offer for the scholarship.

Eligibility
All students admitted to the Master of Music program at the Australian National University will be automatically considered
Selection basis
- outstanding level of musical ability;
- accomplishment as a pianist or composer; and
- possesses the potential to make an outstanding contribution as a musician.
