CUSTODIAN – 3rd Shift – Student Center
JOB TITLE: Custodian – 3rd Shift

JOB DUTIES
This custodial position consists of routine work to maintain the cleanliness of the Memorial Student center working Monday through Friday, 10:30p.m. to 7:00a.m. Some days and or hours may be flexible to meet operational needs. May be required to work some weekends.
Duties include: cleaning and resetting designated meeting rooms, lounges, office areas and bathrooms. Cleaning includes but is not limited to: Wiping down tables, chairs, dry erase boards and floors, vacuuming, mopping, straightening furniture, removing trash/recycle/compost from bins, dusting and cleaning glass. Also included is cleaning and sanitizing bathroom fixtures.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Basic computer skills for receiving/sending emails, timesheet, work orders, safety training.
• The ability to prioritize work.
• Attention to detail.
• Good work habits, such as attendance, punctuality, accountability, thoroughness and ability to
work safely.
• Work independently and as part of a team environment.
- Must have a valid driver’s license
Preferred
• 1 year or more experience in custodial or related field.
SPECIAL NOTES
The normal work schedule for this position is Monday to Friday, 10:30p.m. to 7:00a.m.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stoop, reach, stand, walk, lift, pull, push, grasp, talk, hear, see, climb a ladder a minimum of 6ft, and use repetitive motions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may need to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds of materials individually and heavier weights as part of a team move. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision such as to read handwritten or typed material, and the ability to adjust focus. The position requires the individual to meet multiple demands from several people and interact with the public and other staff.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT
The employee may be exposed to noise, dust, grease, smoke, fumes, gases, potentially hazardous chemicals and solvents, inclement weather conditions, work on slippery or uneven surfaces. Primary work will be conducted indoors, occasional exposure to changes in temperature in conjunction with seasonal needs of the facilities/grounds and set up of events.
The minimum starting salary is $13.00 per hour. The hourly rate for this position is negotiable based on experience and available budget. A six-month probation is required. Night differential does apply to this position. Night Differential (45 cents) – additional pay for all hours worked on a regularly scheduled shift during the period between 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.
