Faculty Position for Strategic Management
Openings
The Department of Strategic Management has an available open rank faculty position. Faculty members report to the Dean, with functional responsibility to the Department Chair.
Academic Qualifications (Essential)
- A doctoral candidate in related field, with an international publishing track record
Professional Experience gained in an International or Asian Environment (Desirable)
- Must show evidence of immersion in business strategy either through significant work experience or through solid research. If experience is gained through research, the research must be relevant to practitioners and has sound theoretical basis.
Teaching Experience (Desirable)
- Local or international business school teaching experience (preferably at AACSB- or EQUIS-accredited schools) at postgraduate level is desirable
- Familiarity with the case method of teaching
Areas and Expertise
- Ongoing knowledge of context and trends based on continuing significant industry experience either through work, consulting, or similar involvement
- Solid understanding of theory as it emerges, with the ability to be renowned as a thought leader. Note that this means publication, though not necessarily in academic journals
- Multi-industry understanding (preferably work experience or research)
- International experience or understanding
- Research interests should be relevant to practitioners and also builds on theory
Faculty members have the following teaching, research, and citizenship responsibilities:
Teaching Responsibilities
- To undertake practitioner-led teaching in the degree and non-degree programs
- To play a significant role in the design, development, planning, and review of innovative courses, modules, etc. for degree and non-degree programs
- To provide general guidance and support to students, and give timely and relevant feedback
- To mentor students undertaking theses, learning labs, and other projects or activities requiring faculty mentors
Scholarly Responsibilities
- To be recognized as an authority in their field, developing and maintaining an external profile appropriate to the discipline
- To maintain research and scholarly activities in order to remain current with developments in the field
- To undertake research and publish in peer-reviewed journals
Citizenship Responsibilities
- To uphold the Institute’s values in all activities, both personal and professional
- To be an active and responsible member of the Institute’s collegial body and be willing to accept administrative assignments as the leadership sees fit
- To contribute to the management, administrative processes, and committee structures of the Institute
- To actively take part in the Department’s activities

The Classroom Assistant will support the classrooms serving children from ages 0-3 years and creating and maintaining a safe and stimulating environment for young children. This position is responsible for daily care of the children enrolled in his/her class. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following: physical caregiving, following an age appropriate daily plan, and facilitation of supportive relationships with co-workers, parents, and students. The Classroom Assistant II ensures, supports, and promotes each child’s safety, health, and development in cooperation with their families and other early childhood professionals in a manner consistent with NAEYC, NJDHS and child care licensing regulations |

Minimum Education and Experience |
AA degree, preferably in the field of Early Childhood Education of Child Development from an accredited public or private institution of higher education. Child Development Associate (CDA) credential for Preschool Caregivers required or an equivalent credential that addresses comparable competencies; or must obtain the credential within one year of employment as a Classroom Assistant II. |

Must have (or be willing to obtain) training and experience necessary to develop consistent, stable, and supportive relationships with very young children. Ability to work as part of a multi-program/disciplinary team in providing a variety of services to children and families. Experience working with children from low income families. Valid First Aid/CPR card, food handler’s card, negative TB test, and clear criminal background check required. |

Required Education: Must be currently enrolled in the current Fall 2018 Term as a student at the University of Oklahoma. Hiring contingent upon verification of current student status.

Skills:
- Strong computer programming skills with particular emphasis on Python and PostgreSQL
- Strong familiarity with the UNIX/Linux operating environment and web services such as Nginx, Django and RESTful web applications
Department Preferences:
- Optional experience with mobile app development on Android and/or iOS is a plus
- Experience debugging and/or trouble shooting software and hardware issues
- Experience working with complex software applications and web-based communications
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
