Postgraduate Bursary in Physician Associate Studies

MSc Physician Associate Studies Bursary
Students applying to study for the MSc Physician Associate Studies in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at the University of East Anglia for entry in January 2019 may be eligible for a £2,500 bursary for each year of the course from Health Education East of England together with an additional £2,000 bursary per student from the University of East Anglia. In total providing students with a £7,000 bursary for the duration of the course.
The bursary awarded by Health Education East of England (HEEoE) is paid to the University and offered as a £2,500 reduction of the tuition fee.
UEA’s bursary of up to £2,000 per student will be paid directly to all students on start of the course and is aimed at supporting students with items such as fees, start-up costs, travel and accommodation.
All students to this programme must be either UK or EU nationals, or have indefinite leave to remain in the UK. Any student who is made an offer would be eligible for this bursary (nb: this is based on having already met the course entry requirements, having been successful at interview, and meeting any other criteria required with regard to the right to work and study in the UK). There is an expectation that graduates from this programme would work within the National Health Service (NHS) on completion of their course.

Minimum Education and Experience |
AA degree, preferably in the field of Early Childhood Education of Child Development from an accredited public or private institution of higher education. Child Development Associate (CDA) credential for Preschool Caregivers required or an equivalent credential that addresses comparable competencies; or must obtain the credential within one year of employment as a Classroom Assistant II. |

Must have (or be willing to obtain) training and experience necessary to develop consistent, stable, and supportive relationships with very young children. Ability to work as part of a multi-program/disciplinary team in providing a variety of services to children and families. Experience working with children from low income families. Valid First Aid/CPR card, food handler’s card, negative TB test, and clear criminal background check required. |

Skills:
- Strong computer programming skills with particular emphasis on Python and PostgreSQL
- Strong familiarity with the UNIX/Linux operating environment and web services such as Nginx, Django and RESTful web applications
Department Preferences:
- Optional experience with mobile app development on Android and/or iOS is a plus
- Experience debugging and/or trouble shooting software and hardware issues
- Experience working with complex software applications and web-based communications
