The Jacqueline Schiller Fund was established in the New York Community Trust is pleased to announce the Jacqueline Schiller Scholarship. The program is open to CUNY students who are majoring in the fields of literature and/or history. The fields of literature and history are very broad and include many courses and many different programs. Through the scholarship, the Fund provides a financial assessment to those students who demonstrate financial need. Ten scholarships will be awarded in the amount of $1,000 each to deserving candidates.
The New York Community Trust is the community foundation for New York City, Westchester, and Long Island. The New York Community Trust distributes income from charitable funds to improve the quality of life in New York City and beyond. The New York Community Trust was founded in 1924, making it one of the oldest community foundations in the United States.

- Personal Statement: On a separate sheet of paper, submit a short essay (500 words or less) explaining
- Why you are interested in studying literature or history
- How this award will affect your future studies in that area.
The applicant must submit completed applications (including your transcript and personal statement) to Office of the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs The City University of New York by email- StudentAffairs-at- CUNY.edu
For the 2017-18 academic year, there will be ten scholarships in the amount of $1,000 each.
The completed applications are due no later than August 15, 2017. All awardees will be notified by September 5, 2017.
