Job Summary | Provides course design support for TLT instructional design team related to editing documents and web-based materials, course and web design layout, and educational technology support. Provides customer support, assists faculty and students using the University educational platforms. Assists in the development and implementation of content on websites by updating CSS and HTML for websites. May be involved with integrating work of writers and designers to produce a final layout compatible with corporate standards. |
Responsibilities | 1. (60%) Writes and edits basic HTML and CSS code. 2. (10%) Assists with technology based course development, design and delivery techniques, visual aid development, media and technology selections. 3. (5%) Develops effective working relationships with faculty and staff. 4. (20%) Loads course material/content in Learning Management System under the direction of an instructional designer. 5. (5%) Provides customer service and assists faculty and students with class delivery systems and web applications. Notifies appropriate technical groups of errors or equipment malfunctions requiring more advanced troubleshooting and analysis. |
Minimum Qualifications | Current University of Utah Student One year of computer operations experience or equivalency required; demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills are also required. Some experience in online education; excellence in technical writing and verbal communication skills; familiarity with a variety of software such as: 1) Microsoft Office Suite; 2) familiarity with Windows, Mac, tablets and mobile devices; 3) proofreading and editing skills; and 4) ability to work both individually and in a team setting. Additional skills with Adobe Suite, graphic design, and screencasting are a plus. Previous customer service experience is preferred. Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description. |

The Stardust Center for Affordable Homes and the Family is offering a limited number of scholarships to support Master of Sustainability Solutions (MSUS) students who have proposed culminating experience projects designed to address and advance the need for affordable housing, recognizing that healthy sustainable communities provide a means for families to obtain, remain in and manage their homes.
