Placement Student or Graduate Partner, EMA programme support
The Electronic Management of Assessment (EMA) Programme has been created to deliver the University’s long-term vision for online assessment while improving the underlying processes and supporting systems
The Programme is now looking to appoint up to two full time programme support Student/Graduate Partners. These positions are open to University of Reading students looking to undertake a placement year or former University of Reading students who graduated in 2017 or 2018. The appointments will be on the basis of a 12-month, fixed term secondment to run from September 2018.
Placement students or Graduate Partners will work within the EMA programme team to support successful change management and the realisation of programme objectives.
You will:
- play a significant role developing and supporting ongoing engagement with the student community
- contribute an understanding of student requirements, attitudes and expectations to support the delivery of all programme work streams
- support and test new functionality, tools and processes from the student perspective
- help the programme team to develop new student facing resources relating to the EMA programme
- design and undertake additional research surrounding the impact of EMA programmes on the student experience
- excellent verbal and written communications skills
- the ability to ensure effective liaison and communication between a range of key groups
- excellent IT skills
- The ability to work as part of an established team

The Classroom Assistant will support the classrooms serving children from ages 0-3 years and creating and maintaining a safe and stimulating environment for young children. Minimum Education and Experience |
AA degree, preferably in the field of Early Childhood Education of Child Development from an accredited public or private institution of higher education. Child Development Associate (CDA) credential for Preschool Caregivers required or an equivalent credential that addresses comparable competencies; or must obtain the credential within one year of employment as a Classroom Assistant II. |

Must have (or be willing to obtain) training and experience necessary to develop consistent, stable, and supportive relationships with very young children. Ability to work as part of a multi-program/disciplinary team in providing a variety of services to children and families. Experience working with children from low income families. Valid First Aid/CPR card, food handler’s card, negative TB test, and clear criminal background check required. |

Skills:
- Strong computer programming skills with particular emphasis on Python and PostgreSQL
- Strong familiarity with the UNIX/Linux operating environment and web services such as Nginx, Django and RESTful web applications
Department Preferences:

- Experience debugging and/or trouble shooting software and hardware issues
