Wolfson Postgraduate Scholarships
Applications for the Wolfson Postgraduate Scholarships 2018/2019 are now closed.
The University is delighted to have been selected as one of nine institutions across the UK to be awarded Wolfson Postgraduate Scholarships in the Humanities for the academic year 2018/19.
Four scholarships of £28,000 per annum will be available to PhD students applying for entry in Autumn 2018 in the areas of History, Literature, and Languages.
Award Details
- Scholarships will be available at the level of £28,000 per annum for a maximum of three years
- A maintenance payment of £23,730 will be made per annum to the award holder. This sum will cover costs associated with research, travel, and training, as well as costs associated with attending events for the programme organised by the Wolfson Foundation.
Eligibility
- Home/EU applicants must be applying for a full-time or part-time PhD course at the University of Warwick, expecting to begin in Autumn 2018;
- Applicants must be applying to one of the following departments at Warwick: Centre for the Study of the Renaissance; Classics and Ancient History; English and Comparative Literary Studies; Film and Television Studies; French Studies; German Studies; Hispanic Studies; Italian Studies; History; History of Art; Philosophy (must be applying to the PhD in Philosophy and Literature).
How to Apply
Doctoral awards will be awarded through a combined Wolfson/Chancellor’s International Scholarship/CADRE competition. Applicants will be considered for all scholarships for which they are eligible. Find out more about this competition and how to apply here .
The highest-ranked eligible candidates who have applied to a subject outlined above will be awarded a Wolfson Scholarship, reflecting the prestige of holding such awards and generous associated funding.

If you are eligible for this scholarship you will be asked if you would like to be considered for funding as part of your application to the University. Please select YES at this point. You will then be invited to complete further information that will form the basis of your application for this Scholarship.
- If you applied before 1st August 2017 and would like to be considered for this Scholarship, please complete the Single Scholarship Application form . Please note that you must have applied for entry in Autumn 2018 to be eligible.

The Application deadline for this year’s competition is 23:59pm (GMT) on Friday 19th January 2018.
All supporting documents (references and transcripts) must be uploaded by Friday 2nd February 2018 at the latest.

Results
Successful applicants will be notified by email by the end of March 2018.

The Classroom Assistant will support the classrooms serving children from ages 0-3 years and creating and maintaining a safe and stimulating environment for young children. Minimum Education and Experience |
AA degree, preferably in the field of Early Childhood Education of Child Development from an accredited public or private institution of higher education. Child Development Associate (CDA) credential for Preschool Caregivers required or an equivalent credential that addresses comparable competencies; or must obtain the credential within one year of employment as a Classroom Assistant II. |

Must have (or be willing to obtain) training and experience necessary to develop consistent, stable, and supportive relationships with very young children. Ability to work as part of a multi-program/disciplinary team in providing a variety of services to children and families. Experience working with children from low income families. Valid First Aid/CPR card, food handler’s card, negative TB test, and clear criminal background check required. |

Skills:
- Strong computer programming skills with particular emphasis on Python and PostgreSQL
- Strong familiarity with the UNIX/Linux operating environment and web services such as Nginx, Django and RESTful web applications
