Falmouth Exeter Plus is the service delivery partner of Falmouth
University (Falmouth) and the University of Exeter (UoE). We deliver
shared services and facilities for UoE and Falmouth in Cornwall
underpinned by close collaboration with FXU, the combined students’
union for Falmouth and UoE, to ensure that the interests of students and
staff are at the heart of everything that Falmouth Exeter Plus delivers.
We
are currently recruiting for catering staff, initially on a 3 month
trial period, to carry out duties within Catering Services which will
include front and back of house. The ability to be multi-tasking within
the whole team is essential. These posts are based primarily at our
Penryn Campus, but you may also be required to work at the Falmouth
campus from time to time.
Catering Services operates a wide range
of different food offers and service styles to accommodate a diverse
range of customers from students and lecturers to language schools and
holiday guests in the summer.
The Hospitality & Catering
Assistant roles will involve basic food preparation, service across all
areas of the catering operation including counter, café, barista coffee
stations, delivered hospitality and looking after our summer guests.
Cleaning and restocking of areas are also part of the front of house
duties.
The Kitchen Porter roles will involve breakfast service and help generally around the kitchen including some washing up.
The
Commis Chef roles will involve assisting the Chef de Partie in the
daily preparation and production of a range of high quality foods for
hospitality, functions and Deli, and will support the provision of food
for other outlets when required, such as the Falmouth Campus, ESI, Amata
& Koofi.
Staff work a working pattern of 5 days over 7
(which may involve early starts, evenings and weekends from time to
time) during which time the successful candidates will be working in a
friendly, vibrant & fast paced environment. Catering Services on
Penryn Campus are fully operational 7 days a week all year round.
You
will have excellent customer care and communication skills with all
levels of staff and customers, and the ability to commit to flexible
working hours.

The Classroom Assistant will support the classrooms serving children from ages 0-3 years and creating and maintaining a safe and stimulating environment for young children. Minimum Education and Experience |
AA degree, preferably in the field of Early Childhood Education of Child Development from an accredited public or private institution of higher education. Child Development Associate (CDA) credential for Preschool Caregivers required or an equivalent credential that addresses comparable competencies; or must obtain the credential within one year of employment as a Classroom Assistant II. |

Must have (or be willing to obtain) training and experience necessary to develop consistent, stable, and supportive relationships with very young children. Ability to work as part of a multi-program/disciplinary team in providing a variety of services to children and families. Experience working with children from low income families. Valid First Aid/CPR card, food handler’s card, negative TB test, and clear criminal background check required. |

Skills:
- Strong computer programming skills with particular emphasis on Python and PostgreSQL
- Strong familiarity with the UNIX/Linux operating environment and web services such as Nginx, Django and RESTful web applications
